In the month of January 2021, Aquaya continued its pilot programme for assessing the water quality in a few towns in the Asutifi North District. Aquaya’s nine-month trial programme for monitoring water quality came to an official end in January 2021.
The programme involves working together with Ghana Water Company Limited, Aquaya Institute, and Asutifi North District Assembly (ANDA) to test ten (10) water systems each month. A larger stakeholder group, including Aquaya, Asutifi North District Assembly (ANDA), and Water and Sanitation Management Teams, is informed of the findings following the conclusion of a cycle of testing (WSMTs). In order to evaluate test results and facilitate analytical discussions among stakeholders regarding the test results and suggested corrective actions, Aquaya organised a monthly meeting with ANDA and WSMTs as well as other stakeholders. This increases the WSMTs’ ability to respond to the test results while also assisting the stakeholders in better comprehending the test outcomes.
