On Wednesday, 4th March, 2026, the Asutifi North District Assembly organized a training programme for Revenue Collectors within the district. The training formed part of the Assembly’s efforts to enhance revenue mobilization, improve efficiency, and ensure accountability in revenue collection processes.
The main objectives of the training were to: Equip Revenue Collectors with the necessary skills and knowledge for effective revenue collection, Educate participants on updated revenue mobilization strategies and policies, Promote transparency, accountability, and professionalism in revenue handling and Improve record-keeping and reporting systems.
Key topics covered during the training included, Revenue Mobilization Strategies: Techniques to improve collection efficiency and widen the revenue base, Customer Relations and Communication Skills: How to interact professionally with taxpayers and the general public, Financial Regulations and Compliance: Adherence to financial laws, policies, and Assembly bye-laws, Record Keeping and Reporting: Proper documentation and submission of daily, weekly, and monthly returns, Use of Technology in Revenue Collection: Introduction to digital tools and systems for tracking and reporting revenue and Ethics and Integrity in Public Service: Emphasizing honesty, accountability, and avoidance of malpractice.
The training programme was successful and timely, as it addressed critical gaps in revenue collection within the district. It is expected that the knowledge and skills acquired will significantly improve revenue generation for the Assembly.
