THE HANDING OVER OF THE DESIGN FOR THE PROPOSED REFUSE CONTAINER SKIP PAD

On 17th April, 2026, the design for the proposed refuse container skip pad was formally handed over to the Asutifi North District Assembly. The activity formed part of efforts by the Assembly to improve solid waste management and provide suitable infrastructure for the placement of refuse containers within the District.

The proposed refuse container skip pad is intended to provide a properly designed and designated area for the placement of refuse containers. The facility is expected to improve sanitation, facilitate efficient waste collection and disposal, and minimize indiscriminate dumping of refuse.

The design provides the basis for the construction of the skip pad and takes into consideration the operational requirements for the placement, loading and removal of refuse containers.

The design was presented and handed over to the Assembly on 17th April, 2026 for review and further action. The relevant technical details contained in the design were made available to the appropriate officers of the Assembly for consideration and implementation.

The handing-over exercise also provided an opportunity for the relevant officers to discuss the proposed facility and the need to ensure that the eventual construction conforms to the approved design and applicable technical standards.

The handing over of the design for the proposed refuse container skip pad on 17th April, 2026, marked an important step towards improving solid waste management within the Asutifi North District.
