The Asutifi North District Assembly, in collaboration with World Vision, has organized a workshop from May 17–19, 2022, to educate faith leaders in the Asutifi North District on the necessity of owning up to the initiative in order to achieve the sustainability aim of the ANAM Initiative.
A World Vision facilitator led the three-day session, learning about the perspectives of religious leaders before aiding them in developing their capacity to help their communities sustain the many programs developed as part of the ANAM Initiative and address the following problems.
The workshop’s facilitator, Mr. Lawrence Lerewanu, gave an explanation of why the strategy was chosen, saying, “We discover that Ghana is a religious country that takes faith seriously. Therefore, if you have a problem and can convince religious leaders to embrace and take responsibility for the solution, you will be far more successful than if you merely deal with it at the departmental level. Eric Opoku, a pastor of the Obengkrom Assemblies of God church and chairman of the Obengkrom WSMT, commented on the importance of involving religious leaders in the management of WASH systems to communities.
