THE ENGAGEMENT OF GYEDU TVET BY THE AHAFO REGIONAL MINISTER AND THE ASUTIFI NORTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY FOR INDUSTRIALISATION

On Tuesday, 8th July 2025, the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Charity Gardiner, in collaboration with the Asutifi North District Assembly, engaged the Gyedu Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institution as part of a broader agenda to promote local industrialisation and youth skills development within the Ahafo Region.

The visit aimed at assessing the institution’s capacity, facilities, and training programmes to align with the government’s industrialisation drive. The engagement provided a platform for stakeholders to deliberate on strengthening partnerships between TVET institutions and the local government to enhance employability and technical innovation.

In her address, the Hon. Regional Minister commended the management and staff of the Gyedu TVET for their dedication to technical training. She emphasised the importance of vocational and technical education in creating job opportunities and reducing youth unemployment. She further assured the institution of the government’s continued support in terms of logistics, tools, and curriculum upgrades.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi North, Hon. Hafiz Dauda, also reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to supporting TVET institutions within the district. He called for collaborative efforts in identifying industry needs to all training modules accordingly.

The engagement ended with a tour of the school’s facilities and a closed-door discussion with the administration on challenges and prospects for development.

This visit forms part of the Regional Coordinating Council’s strategic initiative to harness TVET potential in driving the Ahafo Region’s industrial transformation agenda.
