The Asutifi North District held their 67th Independence Day celebration at the Nana Kofi Abri Park in Kenyasi No. 1.
The Celebration commenced at 8: 00 am in the morning when all dignitaries arrived for the inspection of 35 basic schools and 4 Senior High, Technical Schools and the OLA Senior High Cadet led the contingents.
The Chairman, a rep from the Kenyasi No. 1 traditional Council gave his remarks and acceptance speech.
The District Chief Executive Hon. Anthony Mensah presented the speech of the president of the Republic with the theme Our Democracy, Our Pride.
In his speech, he honour our big six, for their heritage, and he emulated that the institutions must be strengthened.
Furthermore, he stated that the Asutifi North District Assembly is the only Assembly in the Ahafo Region which has inaugurated its Assembly and elected the presiding member which is Hon. Nnuoro Amayaw-Deduakwa.
Because of this, the Presidential and Parliamentary elections are approaching citizens must be calm and steadfast.
He stated that the Asutifi North District Assembly placed 10th in the sector of water and sanitation and was placed 1st in the Ahafo Region on the District league table.
In the national millennium awards, a BECE candidate from Kodiwohia D/A J. S. S received the overall best candidate in the 2023 academic year.
The District Chief Executive Hon. Anthony Mensah appreciated Nananom, all stakeholders and the solid team behind him for his achievement in the District.
