THE 68TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

The 68th Independence Day celebration was held with great enthusiasm and patriotism on Thursday, 6th March 2025, at the Kenyasi No.2 Roman Catholic School Park. The Asutifi North District Assembly organised the event in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service and other key stakeholders. This year’s celebration theme, “Reflect, Review and Reset”, emphasised the need for national introspection, evaluation of past efforts, and charting a renewed course for development.

A vibrant parade was mounted by selected basic and senior high schools within the district, alongside cadet corps and cultural troupes. Schools competed in synchronised marching, with cheers from the crowd adding to the festive spirit.

The Ag. DCE Mr. Samuel Badu Baiden delivered the keynote address, stressing the importance of the theme. He called on citizens to:

Reflect on the sacrifices made by Ghana’s forebears.

Review national and local development achievements and setbacks.

Reset strategies for inclusive growth, particularly in education, agriculture, and youth empowerment.

The Education Director commended teachers and students for their discipline and participation and emphasised the role of education in shaping the future of Ghana.

The 68th Independence Day celebration at Kenyasi No.2 was a successful and well-organised event that reinforced national unity and pride. The theme “Reflect, Review and Reset” inspired participants to renew their commitment to personal responsibility and collective national progress. The community left the grounds in high spirits, hopeful for a brighter and more united future.
