On 20th February 2025, the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Charity Gardiner, embarked on a familiarization tour at the Asutifi North District. The visit aimed to strengthen relations between the Regional Administration and the traditional authorities while assessing the development needs of the District.
The familiarization tour was conducted; To formally introduce the Regional Minister to the traditional authorities and key stakeholders, engage in discussions on governance, development projects, and community concerns, assess ongoing and proposed infrastructural developments within the District and foster collaboration between the regional administration and local leadership.
The Minister, accompanied by officials from the Regional Coordinating Council and the Asutifi North District Assembly, was warmly received by the traditional leaders. The Paramount Chief of Kenyasi No.1, Kenyasi No. 2, Wamahinso Divisional Chief respectively Assembly members and party representatives.
Traditional leaders highlighted the need for improved road networks, healthcare facilities, and educational infrastructure, Concerns were raised about job creation and support for local businesses, particularly in the agricultural sector, and the need for enhanced security, youth empowerment programs, and improved water and sanitation facilities was also emphasized.
The Minister pledged to escalate infrastructure concerns to the appropriate agencies for swift action, Plans were outlined for periodic stakeholder engagements to monitor progress on development projects, traditional leaders committed to supporting government initiatives aimed at improving livelihood and The familiarization tour was successful in strengthening collaboration between the regional administration and traditional authorities. The visit provided a platform for constructive dialogue on pressing community issues and set the stage for further engagements to drive sustainable development in the Asutifi North District.
