The Assembly Members of the Asutifi North District Assembly have confirmed the appointment of the newly nominated District Chief Executive (DCE) in a ceremony held at the Assembly Hall in Kenyasi. The confirmation followed a voting process in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), which mandates that two-thirds of Assembly Members must endorse the nominee.
In the presence of the Ahafo Regional Minister, traditional leaders, heads of departments, party executives, and members of the public, the Assembly Members voted overwhelmingly in support of the President’s nominee. The DCE, upon confirmation, expressed deep appreciation to the President for the trust reposed in him and thanked the Assembly Members for their endorsement and support.
He pledged to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to advance the development agenda of the district, particularly in areas such as health, education, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
The Ahafo Regional Minister, in his remarks, congratulated the new DCE and urged him to work in unity with the Assembly Members and the various decentralized departments to ensure effective governance and service delivery.
The confirmation ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter in the administration of the Asutifi North District, with high expectations for inclusive development and enhanced local governance
