DCE’S ENGAGEMENT WITH SIX COMMUNITIES IN GAMBIA ELECTORAL AREA

The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Hafiz Dauda Dabiel of the Asutifi North District Assembly, together with a team of officers from the District Assembly, embarked on a community engagement exercise within the Gambia Electoral Area on 31st July 2026.
The engagement formed part of the Assembly’s efforts to strengthen collaboration between the District Assembly and local communities, provide an opportunity for residents to raise concerns, and share information on ongoing and planned development interventions within the electoral area.
The DCE was accompanied by the District Coordinating Director, District Finance Officer, District Planning Officer, Head of Works and other supporting staff of the Assembly.

The DCE and the Assembly team visited and interacted with members of the various communities within the Gambia Electoral Area such as Alhajikrom, Esirifi, Onyinase, Krachikrom, and others. The discussions provided an opportunity for community members to openly express their concerns and make requests regarding development and social services.
The DCE explained the Assembly’s commitment to addressing the concerns of residents within the limits of available resources. He also encouraged community members to actively participate in development activities and support the Assembly in maintaining public facilities and keeping their communities clean.
The District Assembly officers also provided relevant information and clarification on issues relating to planning, finance, infrastructure and other development matters.
During the interactions, community members raised a number of concerns and development needs affecting their communities. These included issues relating to road infrastructure and accessibility,Water and sanitation,network issues,electricity,school feeding,street lights and Other social and developmental needs.
The Assembly team took note of the concerns raised and assured the communities that the issues would be assessed and considered in the Assembly’s development planning and implementation processes.
