THE COMMISSIONING OF ASTRUTEF AT ASUTIFI NORTH DISTRICT BY THE MINERALS COMMISSION

On 25th August, 2026, the Minerals Commission commissioned ASTRUTEF in the Asutifi North District. The ceremony brought together key stakeholders from the mining sector, the Ahafo Regional Administration, the District Assembly, traditional authorities, decentralized departments and agencies, and representatives of the mining industry.

The commissioning marked an important occasion in the development of mining-related activities and stakeholder collaboration within the District.

The commissioning was officially undertaken by the Minerals Commission in the presence of government officials, traditional leaders, representatives of the mining industry and other stakeholders.

The event provided an opportunity for stakeholders to appreciate the significance of ASTRUTEF and its contribution to the development of the District. The presence of the various stakeholders demonstrated the importance attached to responsible mining, institutional collaboration and sustainable development in mining communities.

The participation of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Minerals Commission, Regional Coordinating Council, District Assembly, traditional authorities, decentralised departments and agencies, Newmont Gold Ghana – Ahafo South highlighted the collaborative approach required to promote effective management of the mining sector.

The event further demonstrated the commitment of the government, Minerals Commission, mining companies, traditional authorities and local government structures to working together to promote sustainable development within mining communities.

The Assembly looks forward to continued collaboration with the Minerals Commission, mining companies, traditional authorities and other stakeholders to promote responsible mining and sustainable development within the District.
