At a brief ceremony held at the District Assembly in Kenyasi, Asutifi North District, the official logo for the Asutifi North Ahonidie Mpumtuo (ANAM) Initiative was presented.
The ANAM WASH LOGO CONTEST was introduced in July 2022 by the Asutifi North District Assembly, through its WASH Desk, in an attempt to promote greater network involvement and conversation on WASH. Participants were asked to submit logo ideas that communicated the ANAM Initiative’s mission and key WASH concepts.
Asutifi North District Assembly is the project’s sponsor, the Conrad Hilton Foundation, along with partners Aquaya, Safe Water Network, World Vision, IRC, and CDC, provide funding for the ANAM Initiative. Sustainable Development Goal 6, is a thirteen-year master plan that was initiated in 2017 to promote access to safe water and basic sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services for the district’s communities, hospitals, and schools.
Twenty-two people entered the tournament, and Patrick Nana Kwasi Okofo-Dartey was declared the winner. During the occasion, Patrick received a monetary prize of one thousand cedis.
“It is very important for us, especially the young people in our midst, to use our personal skills and take advantage of opportunities to cause progress in our immediate environments,” said District Coordinating Director Mr. Samuel Badu-Baiden in his speech.
He went on to say that he was excited to see certain designers present who challenged the status quo and promised them future opportunities from the Assembly.
Partners in the ANAM programme, department heads, Assembly members, Traditional Authorities, WASH ambassadors, and employees of the Asutifi North District Assembly were all present at the ceremony.
