The Asutifi North District Assembly, in collaboration with IRC Ghana, organized a District Town Hall Meeting on the Quality of Water Services in the Asutifi North District on Tuesday, 16th June 2026 at the District Assembly Conference Hall, Kenyasi.
The meeting brought together Nananom of Kenyasi No.1 and 2,the District Authorities, water service providers, community representatives, and citizens to discuss concerns arising from the Water User Satisfaction Survey and Community Score Assessment conducted under the 2025 service monitoring round.
The objectives of the meeting were to provide updates on the implementation of the WASH Master Plan and the state of water services in the district and also to create a platform for citizens to share concerns and feedback on water service delivery.
The meeting commenced with welcoming remarks from the District Chief Executive,Hon. Hafiz Dauda followed by an overview of the purpose of the Town Hall Meeting.
After presentation on the implementation of the master plan by the District planning officer and powerpoint presentation on quality quality water services by Mr Jerry,IRC,Ghana, the Participants reviewed the findings of the Water User Satisfaction Survey and Community Score Assessment by asking questions.
Discussions focused on the quality, accessibility, reliability, and sustainability of water services and sanitation issues within the district.
Community members highlighted concerns regarding water supply interruptions, expansion of water services,high cost of water services by safe water, water quality issues, untimely lifting of refuse, lack of skip containers in some selected areas and the need for improved customer engagement by service providers.
Water service providers responded to the concerns raised and outlined ongoing and planned interventions aimed at improving service delivery. District authorities also provided updates on efforts being made to strengthen the implementation of the district’s WASH programmes.
The Town Hall Meeting provided an important platform for stakeholder engagement on water service delivery in the Asutifi North District. Participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity to share their views and pledged their support towards improving access to safe, reliable, and sustainable water services for all residents.
The meeting ended successfully with a call for continued collaboration among all stakeholders to address identified challenges and enhance the quality of water services in the district.
